Jesus Christ - the Son, our only Saviour and coming Judge and King.
The Bible - the irrefutable Word of God directly applicable to our lives.
Baptism - the baptism of the Holy Spirit and water baptism by full immersion.
Communion - a remembrance and celebration of Christ's love for us.
Stewardship - all we have, our time, talent and resources, is entrusted to us by God for His glory.
Through belief and obedience in these things our our mission is to help un-churched people
become fully committed follows of Jesus Christ.
Our Values
As a church there are some things we
value and these things shape our life both individually and as a
community.
We value:
God's Word
- The Bible reveals to us who God is and how He acts. God's Word
is timeless and sure. We have a sure word and through its pages we
begin to understand our purpose here on earth.
Relationships
- We value our relationship with God and by teaching and
worshipping we seek to improve it both individually and as a
community. The best 10 minutes of any day are those minutes we spend
as a 'quiet time'. Time which is essential for spiritual growth. We
also value interpersonal relationships that is why we have so many
small groups meeting weekly within the church.
Family - God ordained right from creation that men and women should live
together as family. Children are nurtured best - physically,
psychologically and spiritually - within the family. In Greenlane,
to support this value, we have the Pre-Marriage Courses, Marriage
Courses and an extensive array of other support groups. If you need
assistance, please contact the office or one of our Pastors.
Youth
- We believe in youth. They are the church of today - not the church
of tomorrow. We devote a major proportion of our resources to youth
programmes. Our aim is that if you give us your child into our
children's programme, you can collect him or her from our
undergraduate programme as a fully committed Christian.
These values will
shape your GCC experience and give you the future you are looking
for.
